See My House

"Mom, come see my house."  I just love his little boy voice!  There's something so special, so sweet about it!

Early yesterday morning he crawled into bed with me.  We had gone to a birthday party the day before and taken a gift in blue bag with tissue paper.  At the foot of my bed was a pink Victoria Secret bag with tissue paper sticking out.

Spencer was tired.  His voice was quiet and deliberate.  "Mom. What. Is. In. Those. Bags?" he asked.

Me:  "Those are my bras Spencer.  Mom wears them under her shirts," I replied.

Spencer:  "Mom. I. Want. Toys. For. My. Birfday. I. Don't. Want. Bras."

Me:  "Okay Spencer, I will be sure you get toys for your birthday."

"Panda Bear Workshop"

We had a very special guest this weekend, and our Saturday was filled with fun!
We went to Build a Bear, also known to Olivia as "Panda Bear Workshop".  We were not surprised at all when Olivia chose a purple bear and a Tangled outfit.  We were even less surprised when she named her bear "Tangled".

Mr. Spencer was not the slightest bit interested in making a bear... until he found a Lightning McQueen outfit, that is.  What he was most interested in (at first) was sitting in the little red car designed to show off the bears.  By the end of our trip, he had created an absolutely adorable puppy.  His puppy's birth certificate says his name is "Pluto TV", because that's what Spencer chose first.  However, Spencer changed his mind and his puppy's new name is "Lightning".

Thanks Great Grama Lane, Grama Tootie, and Grandpa Tucker!  We had a blast!

Snow Day!

All Olivia could talk about driving to and from BSF was making snow angels.
Spencer really wasn't sure what to think of the snow at first.

Olivia couldn't wait to show him how it's done.

She had enough smiles for all of us.

"I. Want. Napkin." said Spencer when his sister tossed a snowball at him.
I love the way this guy expresses himself!

Beating the Winter Blues

Olivia has been making lots of beaded jewelry with the many jewelry making kits she received for Christmas.
She is such a blessing, and her smile makes me smile.

And then there's this guy!  He loves to make us laugh.
He pulled his shirt up and his pants over his belly, all to give us a chuckle.
This kid is pure joy!

M&M Memories and More

Can I just say I love this little man?!!!

More Little Boy Memories:
1.  Instead of saying "fire truck", he says "fire tu tu", with a short "u" sound.
2.  "Fighter fighter" is "fire fighter".
3.  "Three Mouseketeers", aka "Three Musketeers", are one of his favorite kinds of candy, second only to M&Ms.
4.  He loves playing with his "Stinkies", aka "Cars Squinkies".
5. "I don't want gummy bear", when we are trying to persuade him to use the big boy potty and he doesn't want to.

Batter Up!

It's too cold to do anything outside, and we've been cooped up in the house.
Now that the Christmas tree is down, we've got some room to play ball!
It didn't take many swings for Spencer to make contact.
My favorite thing about this picture is the look on Richard's face.
My little girl swinging with her new,  heavy purple Easton bat.
She found the sweet spot.
My favorite thing about this picture is the look on Dodger's face because Olivia is hitting at his tennis ball.

Christmas Lists - 2011

The kids made Christmas wish lists at Miss Sara's this year.  I loved the way she wrote down their requests verbatim.  They brought them home yesterday, and I couldn't help but share and remember them here.
With a list this long, how could we go wrong?

My Spencer is a bit simpler.  I had absolutely no idea where to find a riding duck.  I think, but I'm not certain, that he got the idea from one of our Berenstain Bears book.

New Years Eve

Richard worked New Years Eve, but the kids and I got to got Cosmic bowling with some special friends.
These two together could be trouble.
The little boys liked the arcade games best.  I almost lost Spencer once to the game room.

Love and hugs!

Little Boy Memories...

Friday night Spencer covered himself in a pink blanket and called himself Baby Bubly...

Rather than coloring with crayons, colored pencils, or markers (all of which are readily available in large quantities in the Crayola craft box where the kids can access them at any time) Spencer chose to get in the  drawer he's not supposed to be in, pull out the purple glue, and use it to draw me a picture.

More Memories I don't want to forget:
1.  He sang Away in a Manger all of the month of December.
2.  He also likes to sing a song he learned in Bible Study Fellowship.  He doesn't know the first line, so he just sings, "This is Your Day.  I am Your child.  Show me Your Way."
3.  Everything is "stinky" or "booty"... Hi stinky, hi booty, bye stinky, bye booty, sorry stinky, sorry booty, mom stinky, mom booty, dad stinky, dad booty, Olivia stinky, Olivia booty.
4.  He told the Santa Claus at the mall he wants booty for Christmas.
5.  I told him he didn't get any Christmas presents unless he could tell me whose birthday is on Christmas and who is Jesus's mother.  Every time I asked him any question about Christmas his eyes got huge and he'd belt out Jesus, and sometimes Mary.  He often answered before I finished the question; he was so excited to share with me.
