Olivia is practicing her gymnastics floor routine with her swimming goggles. She's a bit Michael Jordanesque in this photo; I think its because she's such a fierce competitor! Like so many American families, we find ourselves caught up in the Olympics at our house. Like most Americans, we tune in for swimming and gymnastics.
Today I explained to Olivia how the racers in the pool were swimming fast, just like Olivia goes swimming and kicks her feet in the water. She got this cute look across her face that said, "Ah ha, I get it, Mom".
I think women's gymnastics is my favorite. Tonight, as I watched the young girls compete, I thought, "If we lived in China, Olivia could be an Olympic gymnastic in twelve, maybe even eight years from now!"
