We spent quite a few evenings in June outside with Olivia as she learned the ride her bike. I think Richard and I had both forgotten how difficult it really can be to learn this new skill. Her bike has training wheels, of course, but there's more coordination involved in peddling and steering than I ever noticed. She would get her feet halfway around, so the pedals were perpendicular to the ground, and then wouldn't be able to get them beyond that point. It made me realize how difficult it is to learn new things. She has only fallen once, thanks to lots of saves by Dad, and she brushed it off really well.
